Foreign Countries That Speaks The Igbo Language

It will interest you to know that it is not only Nigerians that speak Igbo, Yoruba and even Hausa… the speakers of these languages are not even related to any Nigerians in other countries. Today, over 40 million people speaks this language and it has managed to spread oversees years ago as enslaved Igbo people were traded throughout various slave colonies. These colonies were in the United States, Cuba, The Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Belize, Barbados, and the Bahamas. I’m going to show you countries that speak Igbo as their main language. 1. Equatorial Guinea: Igbo is spoken in Equatorial Guinea where it is regarded as a minority language. 2. Caribbean Island : Caribbean indigenes speak Igbo and Yoruba languages fluently, even though they are not related to any Nigerians. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he has now fully recovered from coronavirus. The 37-year-old tested positive for the virus 10 days ago, just before the Premier League postponed all its fixtures. Players and staff at Arsenal have been self-isolating since Arteta was diagnosed, but the Spaniard believes he is now back to full health. "I’m very well now, I feel that I have recovered,” Arteta told Spanish television channel La Sexta. “It took me three or four days to start feeling much better and with more energy, to leave the symptoms behind, and now the truth is that I feel very well.”

This is coming one week after not less than 23 people died in an explosion at Soba, Abule Ado area of FESTAC. The cause of the outbreak is yet to be confirmed as of the time of filing this report. Coronavirus:9 states with confirmed and suspected cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria

This is coming after the state government announced it's first suspected case of COVID-19. Engr Yakubu Danja, the state commissioner for health speaking to journalists on Thursday, March 19, said the result of the test was negative. While advising residents of Katsina state to be calm, Danja added that there was no other confirmed case of the virus in Katsina at the moment and no cause for alarm in the state Coronavirus scare in the country hit a frightening phase on Wednesday, March 18, as fives more cases of the global epidemic were reported, barely twenty-four hours after the Ministry of Health announced the third case. The presidential aide also claimed that one of the four new Nigerian victims is a 6-week old baby — the youngest victim reported so far. He added that the fifth victim is a "foreign national who came in through the land border — the first case of infection via land border in Nigeria." Corona virus  abruptly stops Nysc Orientation today 🇳🇬  March 18, 2020  Benjamin Armstrong  The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has abruptly ended activities at orientation camps across the country. The Batch A orientation camps for graduates started last week, March 10, and were supposed to last for 21 days. Corps members in the camps were, however, shocked when they were told in the middle of the night that the camps had closed and they were all to receive their letters to places of primary assignment. The corps members said they were told this was due to the coronavirus crisis. The decision may have been influenced by yesterday’s resolution of the presidential task force that large public gatherings should be discouraged across the country. The task force also banned foreign trips for public officials but did not restrict travels to Nigeria from countries with high cases of coronavirus. Covid-19 fears catches up with Nigeria as FG bans officials from foreign trips

The Federal Government on Tuesday( March 17) barred all government officials, including public and civil servants, from travelling abroad. The Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus announced the decision after a closed-door meeting in Abuja yesterday. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who is also the chairman of the committee, said the ban takes immediate effect. The federal government on Tuesday inaugurated presidential task force to monitor the development of COVID- 19 pandemic across the country and the globe. Boss Mustapha, who inaugurated the task force, said the composition of the panel would enable Nigeria in its bid to effectively tackle the epidemic .
